Grants at Work: USD 312-Haven

The Fund for Reno County of Hutchinson Community Foundation is proud to support impactful projects like USD 312 Haven Public Schools’ “A New Beginning.”

What They’re Achieving

The purpose of this project is to initiate the rebuilding of the school library collection with current nonfiction books and quality fiction books. The current goal is to provide K-3 grade students with an up-to-date library collection that will spark their imagination, enable them to explore the world they live in, and inspire a passion for reading and learning so that they are successful in their education and become productive adults in the community. By focusing on the younger grades, the expectation is that the children will develop a love for reading that will motivate them to improve their reading skills as they get older.

The Fund for Reno County was pleased to provide $7,613 to support this initiative through the Thriving Kids grant program as part of the 2025 Impact Cycle 1.

Investing in Reno County’s Future
Ultimately, the aim is to turn the whole library into a viable resource for all students and staff, empower them to access the online catalog and databases, educate students in library skills, and provide them with an inviting learning environment.
