Nonprofit Strength Workshop: When Everyone Leads

June 18 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Hutchinson Community Foundation is pleased to invite staff and board members of community-based organizations serving Reno County to When Everyone Leads, part of our Nonprofit Strength Initiative. The workshop will be presented by Phil Auxier, a certified facilitator of the program through the Kansas Leadership Center.

Through this workshop series, we aim to strengthen Reno County’s nonprofit sector by providing opportunities for professional development, peer learning, and connection with regional leaders in the field. Each workshop is designed not only to build skills but also to create space for organizations to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and spark new approaches to common challenges.

Learn to see leadership differently

Leadership isn’t about titles, authority, or formal roles. Leadership is an activity, small actions taken in everyday moments. That means leadership is available to everyone, regardless of position, tenure, or background.

When more people feel empowered to step into those moments, organizations—and communities—make greater progress on the issues that matter most.

Based on KLC’s bestselling book When Everyone Leads, this highly engaging, one day workshop makes leadership practical, inclusive, and attainable, helping teams and organizations unlock collective leadership and shared problem-solving.

Join us for a single-day learning experience that offers fresh perspective, real-world application, and renewed energy, without the long-term commitment.

Advance registration is required by June 11, for space is limited. Lunch will be provided, as well as a copy of the book, When Everyone Leads. We encourage two people from each organization to come together for shared learning.

About Phil Auxier

With over 30 years of experience in leadership development and community building, he is dedicated to fostering resilient, vibrant communities across Reno County. Since 2000, he has served as a pastor at Crestview Bible Church in Hutchinson, where his work centers on navigating complex human dynamics, facilitating difficult conversations, and building trust among diverse groups of residents. Since 2010, he has served as a program facilitator and director with Leadership Reno County, helping local leaders develop the tools to address the county’s most pressing challenges. During this time, he also facilitated Youth Leadership Reno County, expanding the leadership capacity of middle school students. This long-term involvement in Hutchinson has given him a nuanced understanding of rural and place-based work, as well as the unique needs of our local nonprofit and public sectors. Before focusing on community and pastoral leadership, he spent several years in the professional business sector, advising global organizations such as IBM and Casio. This corporate background gives him a disciplined, strategic lens for organizational change, strategic planning, and cross-sector collaboration.
