Young children are sensitive to the emotional displays of their caregivers and teachers. Caregivers can increase connection and self-regulation by providing safe and loving relationships to help young children make sense of their meaning in the world, especially when things aren’t going their way. During our time together, educators and other caregivers will learn how to develop deeper bonds, create meaningful small moments, and develop healthy coping strategies to handle ALL emotions.

Conscious Discipline® is the most comprehensive discipline program available. It is specifically designed to provide parents and caregivers with the awareness and skills needed to create safe, connected, problem-solving environments. Rooted in the latest brain research, Conscious Discipline® offers multiple areas of focus, from classroom management using the 7 Skills, managing emotional responses and structuring environments for success, to reflecting on how our history shapes our patterns of behavior and knowing we have the ability to create new HEALTHY patterns assuring future success for generations.

The training will be led by Shana Schmidt, LPC, IMH-E®(III), owner and trainer at Unification Place, LLC. She is an Infant Mental Health Specialist, Conscious Discipline® Certified Instructor, and former executive director of KAIMH (2011-2013).

Conscious Discipline® trainings are funded by the Early Childhood Block Grant, a program of the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund, and administered by Hutchinson Community Foundation.

This training counts for 3 Contact Hours but is a not KDHE-approved training to count toward child care licensing because of the limited time between when funding became available and when the training is scheduled.

Registration is required by filling out the form below.
