Feb. 8 Make It Greater Grant Workshop

February 8, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Hutchinson Community Foundation invites the community to a workshop on our Make It Greater Grants, for which applications are due March 9, 2018.

Make It Greater Grants are small ($250-$2,500) but have the potential to make significant impacts on communities across Reno County by bringing people together around a shared challenge or furthering community identity and pride. But sometimes it’s easy to think big and hard to think small. This workshop will help community members think in terms of “lighter, quicker, cheaper” projects that might be short-term, low-cost interventions or initiatives that could make the case for further investment or experiment with new ways of bringing people together.

We encourage groups of two or more to come to the workshop together around a shared challenge, but individuals are also welcome. Examples of challenges that might be explored during the workshop include How can we increase our neighborhood’s identity?, How can we inspire youth to get civically engaged?, or How can we connect the Hutchinson Art Center to Main Street? Each individual or group will develop their own challenge to explore in the workshop, which will include:

  • Generating new ideas through brainstorming activities intended to prompt new thinking
  • Selecting an idea that is worth testing or prototyping
  • Pitching an idea to a small group for immediate feedback
  • Translating the idea into a Make It Greater Grant proposal
  • Technical assistance on the Make it Greater Grant Application

Space is limited to 32 participants. Please familiarize yourself with the Make It Greater Grant Guidelines and Application prior to registering for or attending the workshop.

This workshop has been cancelled due to low registration numbers. If you would like to talk through your Make It Greater Grant idea, please reach out to Program Associate Sarah Blake at 620.663.5293 or Sarah@HutchCF.org
