Parents of children birth to 5 years old in Reno County are invited to attend an evening training session on Conscious Discipline®. Each session is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and they will be April 9 and May 10 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th Ave., and April 30 and May 21 at the Reno County Museum, 100 S. Walnut St., all in Hutchinson.

FREE dinner, child care, and a limited quantity of books for parents and children will be available. Dinner will be at 5: 30 and the the training will begin at 6 p.m.

After the training, parents will have the option of staying to speak in a small group with a local Conscious Discipline practitioner for specific problem-solving concerns and questions that are not addressed in the large-group setting.

Advance registration is required by filling out the form below. Each session builds slightly on the previous date, but parents are welcomed and encouraged to come to one or as many sessions as they want. No previous knowledge of Conscious Discipline is required or expected.

The trainings will be led by Shana Schmidt, LPC, IMH-E®(III), owner and trainer at Unification Place, LLC. She is an Infant Mental Health Specialist, Conscious Discipline® Certified Instructor, and former executive director of KAIMH (2011-2013).

Conscious Discipline trainings are funded by the Early Childhood Block Grant, a program of the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund, and administered by Hutchinson Community Foundation.
