End-of-year deadlines to make sure your contributions count for 2024 tax year

Here are some important deadlines to make sure your contributions at Hutchinson Community Foundation count for the 2024 tax year:

  • Gifts of complex assets, such as real estate, closely held business interests, and planned giving vehicles, should be discussed with Aubrey Abbott Patterson, aubrey@hutchcf.org, by Dec. 6, 2024.
  • Gifts of appreciated stock and mutual funds should be made by Dec. 20, 2024. Notify Amy Crockett, amy@hutchcf.org, of the transfer as soon as possible.
  • To recognize and record your contribution to 2024, contributions sent via U.S. Postal Service must be dated and postmarked 2024.
  • Wire transfers must be initiated no later than Dec. 30, 2024.
  • Credit card gifts may be made in person or over the telephone until 4 p.m. or online at hutchcf.org until midnight Dec. 31, 2024.

Grant recommendations

You may wish to recommend grants from your fund at Hutchinson Community Foundation as part of year-end campaigns or holiday contributions. For nonprofit recipients to receive grant checks in 2024, recommendations should be made by Dec. 23, 2024.

Year-end office hours

In observance of the holidays, our operations will pause Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1.
