Nickerson teens invited to sign up now for Youth Challenge

Nickerson teens will have the opportunity to pair their creativity with up to $7,500 in grant money to address a youth-related community challenge.

The Nickerson Youth Challenge invites Nickerson area youth ages 12 to 17 to an interactive two-day workshop to create experiments that make Nickerson an even better place for youth. The workshops will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. July 27 and Aug. 3 at the Nickerson Community Center, 11 N. Nickerson St.

During the sessions, participants will identify concerns and aspirations around a challenge, brainstorm ideas for addressing the challenge and design experiment prototypes to put into action through the grant dollars.

The Nickerson Youth Challenge is sponsored by the City of Nickerson and Hutchinson Community Foundation, which will distribute the grant from the Fund for Reno County.

Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the workshop.

Registration is required by July 26. Fill out the form here: https://tinyurl.com/nickersonyouthchallenge.
