New members join board of directors

Hutchinson Community Foundation welcomes Jane E. Wagler, Kim Moore and Dale J. Snell as new members of its board of directors. They replace outgoing directors Dell Marie Shanahan Swearer, Valerie Pryor and Wendy Hobart.

Wagler runs the EtCetera Shop and Ten Thousand Villages operations in Hutchinson, Yoder, Builders Bargains and, most recently, the We Care Center. She was born in Egypt and educated in Egypt and France, earning a Master of Arts in Economics from the Sorbonne, as well as a TESL certificate from Cambridge. Wagler volunteered with refugees from the Horn of Africa in Cairo, where she met her husband, Eldon Wagler, a Partridge native. They later spent 10 years in Syria administering the Mennonite Central Committee program where she worked with street children, people with disabilities and many nongovernmental organizations. Wagler moved to Kansas with her husband and two children: Anthony and Mary. She continues to travel internationally to see family and friends.

Moore retired in 2018 after three decades as president of United Methodist Health Ministry Fund. He is a nonprofit consultant through his firm Achieve Philanthropy LLC. Prior to joining the fund, he practiced law in Wichita with Foulston Siefkin LLP, where his practice emphasized employee benefits and tax-exempt organizations. He was selected as one of Ingram’s Fifty Kansans You Should Know in 2018 and received the Samuel J. Crumbine Award from the Kansas Public Health Association in 2017. Moore serves on several nonprofit boards, including Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, Southwestern College and Kansas Hospital Association. He is a graduate of Southwestern College and Washburn University School of Law. Moore and his wife, Cindy, have three adult married children and two grandchildren.

Snell, CFP®, CPA, PFS, is a financial adviser and managing partner of Prairie Hills Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial that provides comprehensive financial planning and advice to individuals, families and small businesses. Prior to joining the group, Snell worked in the business tax services division at Deloitte Tax LLP in Kansas City. He serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson and TECH Foundation. Snell is also Prairie Dunes Country Club Board of Trustees’ junior advisory member.
