31 Jul Grants at Work: City of Arlington
The Fund for Reno County of Hutchinson Community Foundation is proud to support impactful projects like the City of Arlington’s “Thriving Kids Need Warm Spaces.”
What They’re Achieving
Through their project, the City is restoring heat to the gymnasium in the Arlington Community Center through the installation of two 60-foot radiant tube heaters and a center circulating fan. There currently is no heating source due to the previous system being condemned and deemed unsafe, making the gym itself unusable in cold months.
Many of the residents of Arlington attended school in the community center and have fond memories of activities and events that they were involved in as children. It is important to preserve and maintain the space for future generations to make their own memories.
The Fund for Reno County was pleased to provide $20,000 to support this initiative through the Thriving Kids grant program as part of the 2025 Impact Cycle 1.
Investing in Reno County’s Future
The City of Arlington would love to see the gym busy with activities that build healthy youth and strong families, making Arlington a more desirable community in which to call home.
