26 Jun Area students receive more than $80K in scholarships
More than $80,000 went to area high school students in May from scholarship funds held at Hutchinson Community Foundation.
The following students received awards administered at the Community Foundation:
- Denny Hart Family Athletic Scholarship: Addison Crockett, Trinity Catholic High School, $1,000, and Ava Burlie, Hutchinson High School, $500
- Family Readiness Group – 1st BN 161st FA Scholarship: Matt Mulligan, Haven High School, $4,000
- Hutchinson News Future Journalist Scholarship: Brett Young, Halstead High School, $2,000
- Lois & Avery Johnson Scholarship for Reno County Students: Charley Baxter and Claudia Taylor, Buhler High School; Charles Mendhenhall and Marissa Pugh, Fairfield High School; Brayden Blubaugh and Austin Honeycutt, Haven High School; Nadya Garcia, Terrill King, Brooklyn Klug and Logan Most, Hutchinson High School; Haley Pickering, Nickerson High School; Claire Miller, Pretty Prairie High School; Mary Newboles and Ruby Tovar-Contreras, Trinity Catholic High School, all $2,000 each
- Myrtle F. & M. Eugene Hobson Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Education: Elizabeth Smith, Kingman High School, $1,000

- Byron & Charles Batthauer Scholarship for Kansas State University: Kevin Wilson, Hutchinson High School, $3,000
- Coberly-Tweito Memorial Scholarship: Ava Burlie and Richard Richardson, Hutchinson High School, $4,000 each
- Doherty Scholarship for Lincoln School Students: Angel Castenada, Hutchinson High School, $2,000
- Jennifer Goodman Memorial Scholarship: Anahi Molina-Cano, Hutchinson High School, $500
- HHS Class of 1947 John & Bobbie Baker Scholarship: Kaleb Cape, Hutchinson High School, $200
- HHS Class of 1962 Scholarship: Ashlynn Inghram and Adrianna Peach, Hutchinson High School, $1,000 each
- HHS Class of 1968 Scholarship: Kierre Martinez and Noah Sidebottom, Hutchinson High School, $9,000 each
- Robert R. & Charlene M. Lind Scholarship: Jack Yoder and Skylar Ray, Hutchinson High School, $1,000 each
