Denny Hart Family Athletic Scholarship

Densmore Hart was the CEO of Bank of Kansas. He loved his family, banking, sports, and the community. Denny’s greatest passion, though, was helping people in need. Denny loved to aid those who were reaching for a higher life ambition but needed assistance.

This scholarship has been established by Janie and Shelby Hart in honor of Denny Hart for his commitment to a behind-the-scenes approach to helping young people. The ideal applicant for this scholarship will be a graduating senior from a Reno County High School. She or he needs to have been highly involved in athletics and demonstrate a clear commitment to the community through his/her involvement in activities outside the classroom. The committee will specifically look for those who, like Denny, have helped others from behind-the-scenes. Students with demonstrated financial need will be given preference and a minimum 3.0 is required.

The scholarship will provide $1,000 for the first semester of a student’s freshman year at any accredited college or university.
